March 2016 Newsletter
OMPT is at it again — the organization has partnered with Concern Universal inGuinea. Concern Universal is an international development organization which tackles poverty from the grassroots. Concern Universal, in consortium with Action Against Hunger, has received funding from USAID/OFDA to implement the End Ebola through Community Based Surveillance and Behavior Change program in Guinea. OMPT staff boarded a flight Saturday, January 30 and headed to the former epicenter of the Ebola crisis. Delivering 68 projector kits and 16 camera kits, OMPT is excited to train Concern Universal staff on video shooting, editing, and dissemination.
New Faces Around the Office
OMPT welcomes Kristin Henderson as the newest staff member, and Mercy Grimes as a volunteer intern. Both of the new additions bring valuable experiences to OMPT. Kristin recently completed her MA in international relations. Her thesis explored the rehabilitation of child soldiers in Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Uganda. Mercy brings her knowledge of grants research. Help us welcome these wonderful additions to the organization.
Become a Global Leader Today!!!
The Global Fellows Leadership program was established by OMPT as a long-term investment in our global community. Gifts support growth of the organization's endowment, supporting special projects and subsidizing costs unachievable by partnering NGO’s. A Global Fellow is someone who has shown significant financial support to the advancement of OMPT’s mission of helping “to educate the world’s poorest billion people with low-cost video technology.”
