December 2015 Newsletter
Happy Holidays from OMPT
As we near the end of 2015, the staff and volunteers at OMPT would like to thank you for a great year. As an organization, this has been one of our most exciting years. We have increased our staff, worked with larger NGO partners, created relationships with foundations, and attracted new board members. Because of you, your support, and continued encouragement, we are even more excited for the opportunities 2016 presents. We have created a recap of 2015 for you to enjoy. Happy Holidays from OMPT!
Ebola. No more for 2016.
OMPT has spent much of this year training our partners on ways to effectively and quickly disseminate information on Ebola and communicable disease prevention. We have confidence that our training has helped to decrease the number of cases in certain areas. Let's remain hopeful that no new cases will surface in 2016. However, OMPT will be prepared to assist on the front line again, should this epidemic come back to life.
Alternative Gift Fair: A Time to Give
Bidwell Presbyterian Church, located in Chico, CA where OMPT is headquartered, hosted the 2015 Alternative Gift Fair (AGF) December 6th and 13th. Community members came out in swarms to show support to their favorite local charity. OMPT staff attended the event, sharing with the community all of the current year projects.
During the AGF, participants were able to donate to their charity of choice and give the gift, in the name of OMPT, to a family member or friend. OMPT's gift list included a car charger, solar panel, mini speaker, and a camera. These are all items which make up an OMPT intervention kit.
