One Mobile Projector Per Trainer Relocates to a Collaborative Workspace in Chico, California
One Mobile Projector Per Trainer has recently made a big move into a new office in the central part of Chico, California. This move not only signifies an improvement in office space and a more desirable scene for the organization, but more importantly, the growth of the organization. With a new location, newly renovated building, and fresh paint with trim to complement the colors of the logo, OMPT is looking forward to expanding their vision and goals.
Back to West Africa. OMPT lands in Senegal and Guinea-Bissau this month, partnering with Catholic Relief Services.
OMPT Executive Director Matt York and Program Coordinator Claire Pelley have made their way to Senegal and Guinea-Bissau this month. OMPT's goal in these two countries is to train Catholic Relief Services and their extension workers on video creation, editing and dissemination around Ebola, and communicable disease prevention. This is a picture of Matt and Moussa Sene Absa, well known Senegalese film director, getting ready to hit the road to carry out educational workshops. Here is a training video produced by CRS and Caritas after completing the OMPT video education workshop.
OMPT Attended SOCAP15 to Leverage Development Efforts
During the first week of October, Development Manager Jonathan King of OMPT volunteered and participated at the Social Capital Markets Conference in San Francisco, also known as SOCAP15. From meetings to workshops, Jonathan was able to meet many people from various organizations and sectors to spread and increase the presence of OMPT. Among the list of meetings were USAID, World Vision and Catholic Relief Services. Through Jonathan's hard work, OMPT will see an increase in the organization's network of client communication.
New pico projector. How OMPT can use this technology to alleviate poverty in developing countries.
Recently hitting the video technology market is the Celluon PicoPro. This projector is only 7 ounces and small enough to fit into your pocket, making it one of the most portable projectors to date. Adding to the compactness of this projector is the ability to operate without a fan. Another interesting feature is its ability to automatically focus with MicroVision's PicoP laser technology. The projector has exceptional brightness and resolution. With the PicoPro's compact size and impressive features the Celluon PicoPro is a great device.

OMPT Honors Local Nonprofit Leader Alexa Benson-Valavanis
On September 28th, OMPT invited guests from the local Chico community to celebrate and honor a local nonprofit leader Alexa Benson-Valavanis, CEO of the North Valley Community Foundation, for her dedication and commitment to both the local and international communities. Alexa has leveraged the NVCF in a way that organizations like OMPT can now look to the community foundation for donors who have an interest in international development and humanitarian causes.
The event was hosted by OMPT volunteers Tina & David Skinner at their beautiful home in California Park. We would like to extend a warm gratitude to the Skinner's for their continued support and generosity to OMPT. We would also like to thank Roots Catering for the delicious nosh, Sierra Nevada Brewery for tasty beverages and Costco and Safeway for their in-kind donations.
