OMPT Asks Advice from Non-Profit Expert about Partnering with Guatemalan NGOs
OMPT spoke with Andy Lieberman; the former executive director of a Guatemalan non-governmental organization called Ajb'atz' Enlace Quiche. Currently living in the San Francisco Bay Area, he has also lived in northwestern Guatemala for 13 years teaching English and computer training while working for the organization. He has led USAID projects there as well. OMPT spoke with him to obtain some advice about approaching organizations that might be interested in a field trial in Central American countries. Andy suggested that being able to communicate both in English and Spanish would be a great asset since local staff are less likely to know English. Although finding good partners could be difficult, he is going to help OMPT get connected to Guatemalan and other Central American non-profit organizations he knows.
